What makes good long-form copy?
With an overabundance of information at our fingertips, knowing who to trust becomes a challenge. High-quality long-form content helps to establish credibility. Good long-form content tends to feature:
• Deep insights over surface-level information
• Original perspectives from industry experts
• An intuitive structure for scan-first reading
Readers highly value:
• New research and expert interviews
• Verifiable insights from other trusted sources
• Real-life examples like case studies or customer feedback
Let's get deep
Sometimes, a snippet won’t do. When customers are navigating important matters – like financial, legal or health decisions – they seek out trusted sources for guidance and reassurance.
In a sea of superficial information, businesses can stand out through the depth and quality of their content.
As AI-driven search evolves, proprietary research and original insights are fast becoming key to a successful content strategy. While LLMs are incredible at packaging existing information, they cannot share novel thoughts or firsthand experiences. As a result, they are more likely to cite content that features original data and insightful commentary.
With more of us relying on AI search, producing the high-quality content these systems recommend creates real value both for businesses and their audiences.
Step 1 - Brief
You receive a briefing document and confirm your content requirements (or I can offer guidance on the type of content you might need).
Step 2 - Research
I conduct desk research and, if agreed, host interviews with team members, industry experts or customers. I can also help to manage any proprietary research you commission.
Step 3 - First draft
The first draft of your article, guide or report is ready for review. You take a look and mark up the document with your feedback.
Step 4 - Feedback & amends
I work through your feedback and action make any changes you have requested. Two rounds of amends are included as standard.
